Four Visionaries. One Unmissable Night.
An extraordinary evening of contemporary dance featuring four powerful choreographic voices.
For this performance, Tampa City Ballet invited choreographers from across the United States to create exclusively for our dancers, turning the evening into a powerful choreographic showcase that highlights the strength, artistry, and athleticism of the company.
Each piece brings a completely different vision of dance to the stage.
Internationally celebrated choreographer Christian Denice premieres Currents, a neo-classical work that explores the way the body moves in continuous flow, both individually and in connection with another. Through sweeping movement and strikingmusicality, the choreography creates a sense of constant motion, where dancers move like shifting tides.
Osnel Delgado’s Danza Macabra dives into a powerful and deeply human question: what would you do if you had one final moment before your life ended? Through explosive contemporary movement and rich Cuban influences, the piece explores that last instant, the moment where you would choose to do exactly what you love most.
Multimedia choreographer Jennifer Petuch brings a completely different energy to the stage, combining dance with immersive projections and digital technology that place the dancers inside a living video game. The result is cinematic, electric, and unlike anything audiences typically experience in a dance performance.
Rounding out the evening, TCB principal dancers Marta Ortega and Brian Gonzalez step forward as choreographers, sharing a new work that offers an intimate look at the creative voice emerging from within the company itself.
Four choreographers. Four world premieres. Created exclusively for Tampa City Ballet.
