Ethan Barbee


 

Ethan began his theatrical and dance training at the Musical Theater Center and Act Two in Rockville, MD. He continued his training at Northwood High School, CityDance at Strathmore, and the Maryland Youth Ballet until moving to Tampa, FL to attend the University of South Florida.

While at USF, he performed in the works of Alonzo King, Maurice Causey, Kara Davis, Bliss Kohlyer, Jeanne Travers, Paula Nuñez, Michael Foley and Andrew Carroll.

He participated and performed in the Beijing Normal University International Creative Dance Seminar in Beijing, China, and has worked with choreographers such as Maurice Causey, Nathalie Pubellier, Kévin Quinaou, Wanjiru Kamuyu, Christine Gérard, and Nadine Beaulieu.

He received a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Dance Performance and Choreography with a modern dance concentration in the spring of 2017.

Since graduation, he has performed as a company member of Collective Soles Dance Company and presented his own choreography in Florida, California, Maryland, and Michigan. He is currently a company member with the Tampa City Ballet under the direction of Paula Nuñez, and he is thrilled to be joining the company this year and can’t wait to collaborate with these great artists.

Most recently, Ethan worked with the Diavolo Dance Theatre and VetArtSpan in a production aiming to heal veterans and societal views on veterans through movement.
